    A friend of mine came into the shop one morning looked at an 18th century Armoire ,after reading the tag his comment was “Thats very sustainable ”
    What do you mean I asked ? ” well you can grow a pretty good oak tree in 200 years cant you ”
    Whether an Armoire , chandelier , screen ,painting, sculpture or any thing manufactured for that matter.
    If its life span is short , and many things dont even get to five years old these days,
    Its Not Sustainable I would guess
    Artistic merit , quality materials and good execution will usually ensure
    something travels through time.

    Paris Flea Market
    If ever the opportunity arises a visit to the Paris flea market near Porte Saint-Ouen is really a must for any one interested in design and decorative arts;
    last month I visited the yearly fair put on by the traders there , and still after 20 years of frequenting the “Puce ” I’m still impressed by by the scope , quantity , quality and often the decorative arrangements the various stall holders can create.
    Like most things in Paris it rewards those who do a bit of homework and research . What excites me most is that its living , you can handle the goods and have the possibility to buy even if you don’t take up the latter, its the antitheses of a museum .
    Buying there is simple and the opportunity should be taken if you happen to fall in love with something there. Feel free to contact me if you would like to know more.
